Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. Starting out with a good breakfast helps set the tone for the rest of day — you’re probably less likely going to hit the vending machine or pick up a a calorie bomb at the drive-thru when you’ve had a satisfying meal to start the day.
It also helps give you the energy and focus you need to be productive and focused, not to mention eating breakfast will help the metabolism get its start. Quick breakfast ideas, filled with protein, fiber and complex carbohydrates, are a great way to start each day.
While all of these benefits are something we want to experience, breakfast is also one of the hardest meals to manage — especially for me! Whether you’re in a rush to get out the door each morning or you have a hard time planning what to eat, breakfast is often relegated to something quick and easy (and often processed).
As I try to better manage my time and start my day off on the right foot, I created a list of quick breakfast ideas that I add to my weekly menu when I need to make something quick. Here are some delicious options to try out:
100-calorie Cheese, Vegetable and Egg Muffins — Have some leftover veggies or cheese in your refrigerator? These egg muffins are the perfect way to use up random ingredients in the fridge and create satisfying muffins full of protein and nutrients.
Superfood Triple Berry Chia Pudding — Overnight oats and chia puddings are simple to put together the night before and enjoy them the next morning. This easy recipe is delicious and so healthy!
Clean Eating Green Smoothie — Sometimes it’s easier to throw everything in the blender and sip on it throughout the morning.
Apple Cinnamon Baked Oatmeal — Prepare this on the weekend and then enjoy it on the go all week!
What are some of your quick go-to breakfast ideas?
